Mission of First Baptist Winter Haven
It has been said that to aim at nothing is to hit it every time. Every organization needs to know what they are attempting to do. This is especially true for the church. Some churches have been around for so long they act as though their purpose for existing is to keep on existing. We believe our Lord has placed on the church a higher calling than, "keep on keeping on." This belief in a higher calling is reflected in our Mission and Vision Statements and our Strategic Plan.
Our Mission Statement is a general declaration of what we see as our purpose for existence. Our Vision Statement is a general outline of how we are going to accomplish that Mission. Our Strategic Plan, takes this huge task and breaks it down into bite-sized, manageable pieces called goals and action plans. Together, these statements, goals and action plans, if followed, help assure us that what we are doing actually contributes to the accomplishment of the purpose our Lord has for us. The following could best be described as what our Lord has given us as our reason to exist.
Mission Statement- United by our love and commitment to Christ Jesus and directed by Holy Scripture, the mission of First Baptist Church of Winter Haven, Florida is to present every person spiritually mature in Christ to the glory of God.
Vision Statement- We shall accomplish this mission through a multi-faceted focus which shall include evangelism, discipleship, ministry, worship and fellowship.
Evangelism- Our focus for evangelism will be participation in and support of the regional, national, and global sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
